Hanging out with Dee-Dee!

Today we went to visit Laiken's great great grandmother!! She just turned 92 at the beginning of May. Dee-Dee absolutely loved her...can you blame her?!? =)

5 Weeks!!

Wow, where has all our time gone?!? How in the world is my baby 5 weeks old?!? Well, she has really discovered her voice in the past week or so and I tried to catch it on video:



Laiken you have really opened our eyes to a whole new world, you amaze us everyday and I can't explain all the love we feel for you. I guess that is what it means to be a mommy!! Your Daddy and I can't wait to spoil you and take you places we have never been and places we have and experience everything through your eyes! But don't grow up too fast, we keep hearing you will do that, so we are trying to cherish every moment, every smile, every coo, cause once it's past you can't get it back. Love you baby!!

Surprise!

So our friend's Alison and Rod got engaged on her birthday in March, any of you who know Alison know her birthday =), and when she came by to visit today she brought me this:


What an honor, and a super cute way to ask!! I was so tired from having two appts. that day that I hope she knows how excited I am! Now what a better way to motivate me to lose my baby weight...better get movin', the wedding is in September!! =)

1 month, 1 pound, and 1 inch!

I wanted to start by apologizing to our followers, we have been quite busy here lately with all our doctors appointments and the everyday demands of a newborn!

So Miss Laiken is one month old as of Saturday and doing fantastic! Her weight gain is happening slowly but surely. We went to her Pediatrician today and she is 7lbs 10ozs and 20.25 inches...YAY!!

We had a busy weekend, we visited our cousins and Aunties over at my Nana's house on Saturday. It was too funny Laiken's cousin Kynleigh has been dying to see her and since she can't say her L's very well she calls her Waiken. Also, instead of asking to touch her she asks if she can pet her, we always crack up at what little Kynleigh comes up with!

Then on Sunday we got to visit our new best friend Nina June on her birthday!! Welcome Nina, can't wait to see all you girls grow up together. Congrats Scott, Mandy and big sister Jolie!!

First Mother's Day!!

I had a really nice first Mother's Day, as I hope everyone else out there did too! Poor Roddy tried to make a platser impression of Laiken's little feet and she decided not to cooperate so it did not work but I did get a beautiful necklace in the hospital when I had Laiken so that def. made up for it!! We will try to make another plaster when we are both able to help Laiken.

Three Weeks!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and Laiken weighed 6 lbs. 14.5 ozs. So we are gaining weight, just not very much or very quickly. We are going to our first cardiologist appt. on Friday and hoping to get a good report. They switched her to a different cardiologist from the one we didn't really care for so we are hopeful that this will be a good experience and that we will really like him.

Update: We really like her cardiologist and he did decide to put her on a diuretic to help pull fluid off of her organs to make it easier for her to breathe and for her little heart to pump.

Cinco de Mayo!!

Since our mexican dress doesn't quite fit yet we decided to put on our pretty white dress!! Viva Mexico~but keep your swine flu Jose!! =)
